As a first-generation college student, Yulvi Reyes Solorio has always understood the immense importance of education. Through her studies and community outreach projects, she found her passion in serving the youth through education.
Yulvi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Educational Studies from the University of La Verne. She was awarded the San Diego Chapter Princeton Prize in Race Relations in response to her efforts in serving the refugee community in Tijuana, MX. To this day, she continues to find ways to be of service to youth in disadvantaged communities.
Yulvi will serve as Program Coordinator for PowerUP. In this role, she will work closely with the students and their families to ensure they are meeting program requirements and being of service to them when encountering difficulties in school or at home.
“I am excited to work with PowerUP as it will continue to strengthen my passion for uplifting youth while serving a community very similar to the one I grew up in,” Yulvi says. We are excited to have Yulvi and her infectious passion on our team!
