Last week was the 2023 Atlanta Charity Clays, an annual clay shooting tournament generating substantial financial contributions for Atlanta area children’s charities. Since its inception in 1991, Atlanta Charity Clays has contributed over $4.6 million to Atlanta area nonprofits.
For the second year in a row PowerUP was lucky enough to be one of the 17 beneficiaries of Atlanta Charity Clays. This year we even had a team organized by one of our board members! PowerUP Board Director Tom Avery, an avid clay shooting enthusiast and longtime ACC supporter, organized a team to compete on Gold Day and Tournament Day of the event.
The PowerUp team of Tom Avery, Barry Zuckerman, Jim Hamilton, and Warren Hamilton placed 5th out of 80 teams competing on Tournament Day.
Martial Arts and Clay Shooting may not have a lot of obvious overlaps, but every competitor I met at the events spoke highly of how important our pillars of self-control and resilience are for not only their sports but for their daily lives.
PowerUP is incredibly grateful to the support from the ACC as well as for those who raised awareness of our organization while competing. We hope to be back again next year for more of the fun!
Please donate now to help PowerUP hit our targets for this year!!
